This Week in Recreation: December 29, 2021

The Rec Centre will be closed Saturday, January 1 for New Years Day

The updated Provincial Health Orders from last week has had an impact on some of the facilities and programs. Please see below some of the changes that could remain in effect until at least January 18, 2022.

 

  • Proof of full vaccination is now required for all activities in the Aquatic Centre for ages 12+ (not including youth programs)
  • Dry-land fitness start date is currently postponed.
  • Indoor Track and squash court are currently closed.

The Primary Ice Rink is closed starting December 30 to clean up the Winter Wonderland. The rink will be ready for use January 4, 2022.

With the ammonia-containing ice plant back in operation, please remember procedures for evacuation. When the blue light is flashing and alarm sounds, head to the main lobby for further instructions.

Aquatic Centre

There is the possibility for last-minute schedule changes. Please remember to double check your swim time before arriving.

Proof of vaccination is required to access the Aquatic Centre as of December 27, 2021

Public Skating

Public skates are unsupervised - use is at your own risk. CSA certified helmets are MANDATORY for children under 8, and we strongly recommend helmets for all ice users.

 

The latest Public Health Order update from October 27 requires all Public Ice users 12+ years of age to provide proof of vaccination. Please see the Customer Service Desk to have your vaccination status verified.

Climbing Wall

Childminding is available for the 11:00 am Saturday climb. Book a climb slot at least 24 hours in advance to avoid cancellations. *New schedule starting January 9*

Mondays: 6:15pm

Tuesdays: 7:30pm

Saturdays: 11:15am, 2:00pm or 3:00pm

Sundays: 1:00pm, 2:00pm or 3:00pm

We are back to normal with no reservations needed. Come in and play!
